ISO 14001 Environmental Management

The process will generally consist of the following steps:

  1. Carry out a gap analysis (to see how close you are to compliance - you may be surprised at how much you already have in place!)
  2. Identify your key impacts and highlight any areas that require additional actions for legal compliance
  3. Set out opportunities for improvement
  4. Divide the actions between your own team and QEM

  6. Establish the scope i.e. what do you want covered by your certification
  7. Develop documentation and processes
  8. Start implementing new processes where applicable
  9. Identify suitable certification bodies and go out to tender
  10. Confirm timescales for certification
  11. Gather at least 3 months' objective evidence
  12. Manage the certification process
