Tom Greenwood
Engineering Manager
Tom began collaborating with QEM in early 2015, bringing with him experience from the railway, electricity and water industries. He has worked from the ground as an engineer through to site management including QA and planning. Tom is currently a Project Engineer working with Northern Gas Networks looking after their Civils and Security upgrade projects.
Tom studied Civil Engineering at Nottingham Trent University and completed a sandwich year working with Carillion. After graduating, Tom continued to work with Carillion on large scale railway alliance schemes on the West Coast Main line and the Channel Tunnel Rail link. After a few years at Network Rail he decided that a change from the railway environment was the way forward and moved into the world of Electrical Substation upgrades. It was during the ISS works that Tom met James C and was convinced that partnership with QEM was the future!
In his free time Tom loves spending time with his wife, children and many pets. He was brought up on a farm and has aspirations to provide a similar upbringing for his boys who are both tractor mad! His interests are normally fuelled by petrol, have spark plugs and involve going fast, he can normally be found in the garage or shed pulling something to bits and rebuilding it. Tom’s trademark handlebar moustache is the envy of the QEM management team, and the MD is hoping that having him on board will make up for his own inability to grow such a revered facial adornment!
